About this place
The first station in Novi Sad, built in 1882 on the site of today's Liman market. The first train reached the city on 5 March 1883 from Subotica, and the line onward to Zemun opened that December. When the railway was moved north to make room for the growing city the station was demolished, and only its former post office building survives. Postcards of it are captioned Vasutallomas in Hungarian and Eisenbahnstation in German.
